The International Hockey Federation (FIH) insists on the use of artificial turf surfaces for official competitions. Tarkett Sports has developed a specific playing surface for field hockey, meeting the main requirements of the FIH: PUR.
Certified by the FIH in the Global category, Tarkett Sports PUR is the result of research and development work in permanent association with the clubs and our installation teams.
The PUR series of synthetic turf surface has two varieties. One is the PUR LSR and other is the PUR PP. The latter is a very high density sand-less artificial turf designed for high level field hockey competitions.
The outcome of these efforts was the confidence placed in Tarkett Sports by the highest federal hockey authorities for the supply and installation of pitches for the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004!
